Baby Girl G

•January 27, 2010 • 2 Comments

I absolutely fell in love with this 7-month old. My first semi-stranger session. Mom found me through one of my friends on Facebook and offered her daughter up :) Turns out too that our husband’s play softball in the same league! Small world. Baby G was a dream. Cute, chubby and smiley. Thanks to mamma for the opportunity! :)

and a little something for Valentine’s Day…

Bookings!

How exciting!!  D.P. Photography has two sessions booked for February!! One maternity and a sister duo!   I also have 2 more maternity sessions tentatively booked for March! :)  I’m hoping the moms will also be willing to let me photograph their new bundles.

This saturday I have a session with an adorable 7-month old girl I’ve got tutus and Valentine’s props to use so I can’t wait to see what I can create with her. She’s got one serious scowl though, so I’m hoping she’ll put up with the paprazzi for a couple hours.

Stay tuned for pics from those shoots!!

Book  your session today!!

I’ve been working with template that I found throught MCP Actions and need some opinions. Here is the back:

Back

I really like the red colour and the pattern, etc. I’m having a hard time with the front. I like the B&W photo, but the text box is throwing me off. Black text box or red to match the back of the card. I have a few shoots coming up so I’ll have more photos to choose from if the current photo isn’t jivin’ anyone. So here is the front:

As I type this now I’ve got a new thought for the back so maybe I’ll add that and repost. Love it? Change it? Scrap it? Let me know!  :-)

Happy Birthday

Here are a few snaps from Myles’ birthday party. I call them “snaps” because a)they aren’t perfect technically; b)there was alot of mixed lighting; and c) moving children in a mixed lit area, with slow shutter speed and high ISO make for blurry, noisy pics. I did get some that mom will like. I’ll be scheduling an actual SESSION with Myles and his mom in late January/February.

Happy New Year

A new year is freshly upon us and I am desparately hoping to get more practice with my photography. Models are always wanted and greatly appreciated.   My little guy will be 2 this year and hopefully a bit more cooperative infront of the camera…i’m not holding my breath for that one :-)

I have a couple shoots lined up for mid-January and look forward to those.  Stay tuned for the pics!!

I don’t make resolutions but strive throughout the year to make things better and to improve.  I’m looking forward to big and better things in 2010.

Happy New Year!!

Boxing Day with K, A & Baby M

•December 31, 2009 • Leave a Comment
I refused to join the masses at the malls on Boxing Day. Instead, I took out my umbrella lights, my new flooring and new crimson seamless and took pictures of the K, A and baby M. My first time shooting kids under 10. It was ok, but more practice definately needed for this age group. It’s good though that they listen (somewhat) and you can tell them to stand “like this” and they do it. Far different from my own 20m old :) Next shoot will be with mom and the crimson seamless.  :)

Merry Christmas

The 9-month old I had booked had to cancel because she had a case of stomach flu. I was kinda bummed out since I had my new roll of seamless (Crimson) to try out on her but I’ll still get to try it out on Boxing day though on my friend’s 3 boys so stay tuned for those pictures.

Here’s hoping that you and yours have a merry christmas and if you are braving the malls today for some last minute goodies, remember to have some patience ;-)

Have a great holiday everyone!

These photos were taken the day my camera decided to go on the fritz so there’s only a few in her set. Beautiful young lady and great family friend…the youngest of 4 girls. I think one day I should photograph all you :-) Thanks Angelique. :)

Finally!

My camera has returned and working like new again. I think that is the first and last time  I deal with that big name delivery company. I’m glad to have my cam back in time for christmas. Santa will be visiting our condo complex Dec 21st so hopefully my little guy won’t cry…or pull at the beard…fingers crossed I get a good shot :)

I’m working on editing another session I had in November-the session I had to cut short because of cam issues- and I’m quite pleased with them. Focus was good in alot of them and the catchlights…even impressed me, and I often struggle with finding the light. I will posting those hopefully soon. You can take a sneak peak here:)

This is my from my first practice session with my lights and thunder grey backdrop.  Using one colour just made me want more rolls of seamless :) Rachel came prepared with several outfits and a willingness to pose and just go with the flow. Maybe she’ll hook me up with front row tickets when she makes it big on Broadway…? :) Thanks letting me practice on you Rach!!
